I can't post the link here, but if you use Zelle, you should search for Clark Howard on Facebook or go to his website, Clarkhoward dot com and listen to the audio he posted about the dangers of using Zelle.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I use it to send money to a family member. Never a problem.

@smoochy - I listened to most of the audio on Facebook, Clark's page.  He said it is the most dangerous cash app out there.  No protection from a bank in case someone hacks into your account and takes your funds.  That was the gist of it.  Oh, and he said lots of scam emails and texts pretending to be from Wells Fargo or Bank of America regarding your Zelle account.

Re: Anyone use Zelle?

[ Edited ]

I use it all the time as do my kids and no issues here. My kids are in college and I assume they are pretty up to date on the latest payment apps.

I signed my life away a long time ago to Google, Apple, FB, and the Chinese with TikTok. My cards are stored in my Apple Wallet and in all kinds of shopping sites on the web and I have never had an issue.

I just urge everyone to do some research on this.  New York Times just did a piece on Zelle early this month.  I found it on google, but I don't have a subscription so I can't read it.

I just finished to the entire Clark Howard audio.  Everyone has to make their own choices, but it's not for me.

Yes I've read some of those articles. It doesn't change my decision to keep using this payment method.

Clark Howard isn't always right. Some people listen to him and believe everything he says. I have never listened to him but have heard about him.

I use Zelle at least 5 times every month for years and have never had a problem. The only thing I don't like is if you send money  to the wrong info, you will have to wait for at least 14 days for you to be refunded. That's why it asks you to verify if everything is correct before sending. That's just common sense.

@gidgetgh  nothing against you but I don't have the time to waste listening to him. Everyone has to make their own choice and I choose Zelle.

There are a lot of things most of us shouldn't do, but that's life.

You don't have time to "waste" listening to him?  I personally don't care if you listen to him or not, though he has a terrific reputation as a consumer advocate.  I was just putting the information out there for anyone who might be interested. Use whoever you want, but sometimes it's good for all of us to educate ourselves about potential problems, which hopefully will never arise.  No different than all the recall notices that are posted here.  Read, absorb the information and make an informed choice.
