Just got an email today saying Onstar is "updating" terms, conditions and privacy statements.
Attached was their 28 page .pdf file with all the particulars.
Sheesh....after wading through all that I feel like I've been beaten up and have no choices other than not keeping the service!
All the legalese in their statements of conditions and terms essentially says that they can collect and do basically anything they want to with any and all information they might gather on us, our driving habits, our locations we visit, whether we use seat belts, etc.
I know I could cancel my subscription if I don't want to "agree" with all their krap. But we live in a rural area and do a fair amount of traveling and have really liked the idea of being able to contact Onstar in an emergency. We've been using it for over 7 years now and have it on two vehicles.
I guess this is just a sign of the times....but for some reason this really rubbed me the wrong way this morning and I just needed to vent a bit.
