Anyone not doing anything for Thanksgiving?

Just me and my husband tomorrow. Grilled cheese sandwiches, pumpkin pie for him and cheesecake for me.

Gonna be a lonnnnnng day.

Not trying to be poor pitiful Pearl (remember the doll?) here. It is what it is.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Anyone not doing anything for Thanksgiving?

I do have plans, but I would certainly be ok with grilled cheese and cheesecake.  Some days I would prefer to just stay home, but will go to please others.  We will be gone 4 hours max!  I have a four day weekend, so going to relax at home a majority of it.

I'm not. Going to the cemetery and maybe to a movie if I feel like it.

Re: Anyone not doing anything for Thanksgiving?

I'm heading to my brother's but to be honest I'd be happy and content to stay home in my sweats and pig out on homemade pumpkin pie and reddi whip Man Wink while binge watching Christmas Hallmark movies. It was a busy stressful work week and I'm kinda beat.  Supposed to bring green bean casserole and I should really start preparing tonight, but I'm on here.  LOL!

Husband and I are going to a local steakhouse and we are making a small turkey on Friday. Mostly for sandwiches etc.

We are always alone.  We have two sons but the daughter-in-law’s ALWAYS have to go to their side. We have to work around them. So we go to the movies Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day etc. hubby and I are just thankful we have each other going on 52 yrs!

Blessings to ALL

Does sharing baked ham, corn pudding, baked sweet potatoes, and deviled eggs for dinner qualify as 'something'?  We will then enjoy some pumpkin pie and a cup of hot tea on the couch by the fire while watching the National Dog Show.  Will probably check in on a few football games also.  I look forward to a leisurely Thanksgiving together.

Re: Anyone not doing anything for Thanksgiving?

I'm doing the same thing tomorrow as I did today. Our local restaurant chain Zippy's has the Thanksgiving special today and tomorrow.

The Thanksgiving takeout plate lunch consists of turkey with gravy, ham with raisin sauce, Stovetop stuffing, 2 scoops rice and a  smidge of cranberry sauce.  'Broke da mouth' delicious!

And of course pumpkin pie for dessert as a side order.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Anyone not doing anything for Thanksgiving?

We like our holidays quiet. We have been invited out but declined. We had older friends and kin that we would invite for dinner. We liked that.

We do have a TG tradition. One year I was in a wheelchair and not able to do much. When Mom came for dinner we had TV dinners (not me I am a vegetarian) she said it was the best TG ever. We have the TV dinner in her memory.
