I adopted 10-year-old Kai a few months ago. She has been “hacking” since I got her, but significantly in the last week. I thought she had a huge hairball that she couldn’t dislodge, and recently I have been giving her the Hartz gel daily. I took her to the vet yesterday, and the vet thought it was respiratory. They took a chest x-ray, and have diagnosed asthma. I have to pick up an inhaler at Walgreens and a pediatric mask and treat her 2x per day. I also have to pick up an emergency inhaler – sure hope I never have to use it.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding her care, or tips regarding the inhaler/mask? I hope she cooperates as I have nobody to offer a second pair of hands in the process. Also, any suggestions for a dust free litter?
