I have terrible arthritis all over my body. This time it has attacked my hand, namely my thumb. I am having hand surgery, and I am quite nervous about it. My thumb is way out of place and I have a lot of bone spurs that are tearing the muscles around it. The joint is gone - there is no cartilage left. So the surgeon will be pulling my thumb back into place and anchoring it with two tendons from my arm. I don't think I was this scared about my two knee replacements. I think Robert Lee Morris had a surgery of this type. If anyone out there has had this type of surgery - how did it work out for you? Are you happy you did it? The doc says I will have at least 3 months of physical therapy, and I won't feel "normal" for about 6 months. Thanks for your thoughts!
