I returned a clothing item to Saks and to my surprise it was returned back to me with a letter saying their returns dept will only accept items if they are received within 30 days of the order date. I thought most brick and mortar as well as online retail stores (like QVC) utilized a 30 day return policy starting from the customer's receipt of the item. I checked their website and it does not stipulate returns are only accepted if 30 days from the order date. I called their CS and wanted an explanation. I was told that it was out of their hands and the decision was with their returns department. I asked when they were in receipt of the item and the CS rep told me July 17th. I was really surprised. I sent if off before the 4th of July holiday. Unfortunately I used the shipping label they provided with the item so I couldn't look up the shipping history myself. Oddly enough the CS rep told me they couldn't go back and track the package because it wasn't coming up in their system. I'm very unhappy with them.
Has anyone else had problems with Saks returns?
