Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

I don't know any truck drivers, so I can't swear to that but I have worked with professionals a lot and have never heard any of them swear. Maybe in private but certainly not in a professional setting.

Of course, there are many "kinds" of professionals......

You know what's funny, I'm hearing kids in college using the terms "cat's meow" and "cat's pajamas".{#emotions_dlg.lol}

I heard one of the neighbors, who is in high school use: "Bee's knees" !!!

Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

I never thought of this word as "bad" word. To me it describes the life being vacuumed out, nothing left, a circumstance unlivable. I use this word with almost a humorous tone, when something is just beyond "the pits"

I never use the F word, I did in the 70's, but I just stopped. It has become the most common of everyday words though.

I laugh at the saying, "Bee's Knees", because it is just so funny and cute. I think of those little Bees , and what their knees look like. I always picture them with bow legs and knees. LOL!

That mental picture is hilarious! Wonder how it came to mean something good?!

This is how I have always described this word.

I don't like the F word and never use it because there's pretty much only one activity that you can relate it to.

Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

No. However, growing up as a child, we were not allowed to say that word, and when we raised our kids, they too were not allowed to say that word..it was on the "bad word" list. When our kids were teenagers they could use the word...such as, that test s*cked...how was work, it s*cked. Jerz

Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

No, but it was one of the ones I was not allowed to use growing up. Use it all the time now but do not think of it any way other than something which is stinky.

I do like Guy Fiere's favorite saying on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives "Shut the Front Door!"

"Live frugally, but love extravagantly."
