Henny, lethargy seems to be a red flag.  If they have long fur, consider cutting it, just do it yourself, less trauma than a shop.  It didn't bother mine at all.  Also ice cubes in their water, one of our girls licks the ice.  I also keep them in a room with a fan and aim it in their direction.  

Cool water on their head can help.  Are your pets dogs or cats?  Cats sweat through their paws, I have put cool water there, also.  

To get more fluids into them, I mix chicken baby food with water, they love it, it's a cool soup.

@NoelSeven, it got to 100 degrees where I live for Friday.  Right now it is 74 degrees but with only a 13 mph SW wind which brings in the cooler air from your area.  But the temps for the next few days are supposed to be in the 80's.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  Yea!

75 degrees at 6:30 a.m. and our high will be 84, but we are not going to lose our humidity at all until the end of next week :-( The killer is that our overnight lows will be 74-75 all this coming week, so there is no cool-off at night.

Its going to be 3-4 degrees cooler here today! it only got up to 100 yesterday- i only work a short day today- 9-3  hopefully but I am outside in it alot...good luck ladies...Here is something i hope you other Californians get a kick out of..I have it on my FB page also...

It is going to be a nice day today.   It is around 8:00 a.m. right now and the temp is 79 mostly cloudy.   

Plans for today is staying indoors and purging my closet.

Reporters and writers slanted the story.   The real story was not shown.   

When the migrant workers came they had no home and slept in their trucks or cars with their family.   The farmers and ranchers let them use their barn, storage buidling, etc.   At least they had a roof over their head.  The ranchers paid for their water and lights also. 

Did the farmers and ranchers get any credit for the help they gave by the writers?  No. 

But that information would not get the protestors to come around would it.  The farmers and ranchers that helped them was written as bad humans.  

Todays temp will be 79 with clouds to cool down the area.

Noel, thanks for the tips. Love the "soup" idea.

I have all the sinks in the house (five bathrooms) filled with water. ice cubes in their kitchen bowls. and a fan in the entry hall for them. Only one is a long hair and his just grew back in from his last cut. (he hates strangers so we do it ourselves, pausing every few minutes to hand out the temptations.)  I keep wetting them all down.

The wild outside birds, bunnies, etc we try to care for also.

We lost power last night. a couple of transformers in town blew. A big wake up call re being prepared.
