The songs was powerful spiritual songs. Powerful sounds rolling across the fields.
You know, many "spiritual" songs were written out of hte despir of people who were enslaved, and longed for God to "take them home" to a better life...

The songs they sang was songs from Okla. They were happy songs.
Not suffering songs.
You know there are many people in the world that see life as a blessing to be alive and have love all around. Good families and children that enjoy working the fields full of songs.

The squirrels are coming for water. we have saucers all over the garden and bird baths too. We have wild bunnies that live down by the pool. We put water out for them too.
praying for el nino to bring us rain!
That is sad, @hennypenny. Another example of the changes. The animals must be struggling to adapt.

As they tore out the orange groves and built all the shopping centers and tract housing it just got hotter and hotter. About 20+ years ago I moved to the Pacific Northwest (just outside of Seattle) and love having all four seasons here but they are mild. The last two summers have been very warm. This July was the hottest month ever on record. This is happening all over and it is scary.
It is scary, @DiAnne. It's clearly not just people's imagination... the temps, the humidity, the storm patterns... it's all changing, and the differences are not just what we're anecdotally conveying, the differences are there on the scientific record books.

What's this going from standard then to non-standard English usage ?
Weird.
Just pretend the Ignore button is still with us ;-). Otherwise it gets fed.

For some strange reason I feel like it's hotter tonight than it was last night. My house was bearable last night after 7; tonight I just kicked the a/c up.

I checked NOAA, and it was 100 here today, so it was 7 degrees cooler than yesterday. Hey, that is 7 degrees, I am grateful!! it is suppose to cool to 90 by Sunday, so that is hopeful. I checked and it is 86 right now.
Henny, I hear you about the trees, we water the lawn and trees anyway, but the weather pattern has changed their pattern.
Tonight menu for the possums
1/2 aged banana, diced (easier for them to eat)
17 red organic grapes, cut into 3 slices each
left over, slightly spoiled cat food
and some dry crunchies, left over
2 bowls of water. The little one likes the 8 ounce wide mouth mason jar.
My husband had take out. LOL!

Yes, it is hotter tonight. Just before dark fell I could see a thick white cloud cover, maybe that is why we are hot here.
