Received a letter from Synchrony bank stating a change to my Q Card Account Agreement.
In addition to raising APR , Penalty APR, and Returned Payment Fee they will now be charging $1.99 per month for the convenience of sending a paper statement.
Not too happy with any of this. I'm never late and pay in full each month but I'm not pleased to learn I'll have to pay to receive my bill in the mail.
Anyone else have views on this ?

I received the letter so I signed up for paperless statements to keep from paying the $1.99 paper statement fee monthly.

Bank of America charges extra for a paper checking statement with photos of your paid checks.

My Target CC is Synchrony.
I haven't gotten a letter yet. I won't pay for a paper statement. Because using their card gives 5%off and free shipping, I'll accept electronic statements.

I didn't get a letter, maybe because I stopped getting paper statements a couple of years ago. I just download the statement.
I don't care about their APR.

Some banks already do this, and I expect more will do so in the future.
Some companies I deal with charge some sort of fee for paying any other way than automatic withdrawal from my bank account or sending in a check (which of course requires me to buy a stamp).
I prefer paper statements. I don't find $2 out of line. But if Synchrony gets crazy about it, I'll drop their card and use one of my other credit cards for the few items I still buy here.

Seems to me they are following a trend in banking that has been going on for years.

I received the email from Synchrony regarding my HSN card, so I updated to paperless. I don't like it, but I will get used to it. I should update to paperless for my Q card too, haven't gotten anything about that yet, but sure it's the same since they're both Synchrony.

I did get a check for $3.00 and some change from them about a month ago. I always round up any credit card bill I receive since I pay in full, just hate writing in the cent amount. JC Penny's uses Synchrony and I guess they do not care for you having a credit for more than a couple of months. I just do not shop at Penney's that often so I do not think about they do not like over payment. That is the only place I have CC with Synchrony.

I would never pay for a paper statement. I'd pay online or cancel the account if I really didn't need it. My banking and bill paying is 99.995% online right now.
The timing of the rise in the APR is certainly interesting.
