Ive been using Uber and Lyft for years and I never had a single problem. Every I know has used it at some point. I used Lyft last evening to go to my friend's house. Cars always arrive and you track them on your smart phone. Everything is through you phone which makes it better and more efficient than taxis.

I use uber for trips back and forth to the airport or pier. I've never had any problelms with Uber. Just make sure to check the license plate before you get in.

I also live in a small town. We have Uber drivers that ONLY do .........
Airport runs
"Shore" runs
Grocery store runs
Mall (indoor & outdoor) runs
"Concert" runs
etc., etc., etc.
I was thinking along those lines, @Mz iMac...maybe Nextdoor![]()

I haven't used Uber, but we have used Lyft in Los Angeles. They were always on time. Some of the drivers were a hoot. Fun. They offer water, the cost was reasonable My grands use Uber and Lyft both they are in Los Angeles. They use to go to airport, and haven't had an issue.

Some Ubers only do deliveries, i.e. food, medications, etc.

I've used Uber once, very good experience, super clean car, nice very polite driver. I wouldn't hesitate to use in the future.

At some point, you might not be capable, @Carmie. I still drive but there are destinations I would rather not.
That could happen, but hopefully not for a long while. I drive everywhere sometimes towing a boat or an RV.
My husband drives as well. If I become incapable, I'll call on family members.
Right now I am the designated driver for my family. I took my youngest sister to doctor appointments and to physical therapy when she had her knee replaced.
I also drove my older sister to the grocery store, Dr appointments or anywhere she wanted to go.
And, I have a friend who is in a senior center tht I take for Dr visits and just out for a drive or lunch in occasion. I pick up my grandson and often take him to games, etc.
I picked up my grandkids after school for years too.
So far, so good. I don't mind driving. But, I'd rather not drive at night when I don't know the area.

I have never had an issue with Uber. The cars have always arrived on time and been clean. I have never felt unsafe in an Uber. If you are in an area where Waymo operates (Phonenix, LA, and SF) they are a great alternative to Uber and Lyft. It's great not to have to talk to a driver when you just want to get from point A to point B safely.

Waymo has become very popular here - I see them all the time and many tourists take them as well, I'm sure for the novelty. Uber and Lyft also very common here for years. I take Lyft frequently and have never had any problem.

I have never heard of Waymo. I will look to see why it's a novelty.
