i love whole foods and what they have to offer. also, their employees are the best! talking about salad bars; i won't eat from a salad bar anywhere, anytime, any place. i have an aversion to them and germs. i won't discuss any further, but that's how i feel about salad bars.

The one that I've been to has a fabulous bakery, olive bar with almost everything and a pizza oven that makes delicious New York style pizza - delish! I think it's a nice alternative , but pricey.

@chrystaltree wrote:Nothing new here, we have a lot of Whole Foods. They are expensive, if you are going to shop for the week, count on spending your whole paycheck. It's all about the hype and making people think what they sell is healthier, not much different from any other quality grocery store. There have been some problems in this area with them cheating customers on the packaging and at the scales. That pound of shrimp wasn't always a pound of shrimp. They had a "calibration' problem......multiple times, at different stores...lol
You are exactly correct! It is all about the "perception" that people are eating more healthy. In reality, they aren't if they are buying their prepared foods. There are a lot of oils and sauces in their prepared foods.
I love their salad bar, but the price is outrageous. I paid $18 for a salad.
Don't buy the prepared food items, they are always over priced compared to making it yourself, regardless of where you shop.
Omg! Their salad bar, which is not much different than any of the major grocery store salad bars. They are all expensive. But you made remember and laugh. Last spring the girls at work and I were on a walking kick and one day we decided to walk to Whole Foods, make a nice fresh salad and walk back. We often did that at closer store and my salads came to about $8.00. I made the exact same salad at the Whole Foods salad bar, filled the same size and type of container and I almost fainted.....my salad came to $17. I kid you not..lol I was dumbstruck. I didn't know what to do. I thought about saying "never mind" and walking out but that wouldn't have been right. So I bought the "cadillac of salads" which didn't taste any better or look any better or do anything that my regular $8 salad did....lol But my friend insisted it was worth it because it was "organic". And then, of course, we all found out that "organic" is a marketing word that has no meaning, it means whatever a store or restaurant wants it to mean.
I don't like a lot of salad bars as some are disgusting, but the one at WF is nice as is the one at JD. I'll eat at those 2 salad bars
I didn't notice the price per pound so I just made one large salad--mainly lettuce, tomatoes, veggies, etc. I didn't even put any prepared foods or potato salad or anything like that on it. It was $18, and I could have made one bigger at Jasons's for $8 to $9 and gone back if I wanted. I think WF's salad bar is around $9 a pound. A pound is not that much when you like heavy vegetables. I will never again get a WF salad.

What judgemental statement. You notice that people that work at Whole Foods are odd and strange?
It's people like you the world could use less of.
Call me psychic but I'm pretty sure youre a miserable soul.
