Anyone Know About IRS Tax Breaks For Pets

Are medical expenses deductable? My cats are rescue cats as they were abandoned and came to live with us. They need help and food so we provided. We take them to the vet and pay the expenses and I would like to know if you can claim their expenses. Afterall, they were abandoned and would not have done well on their own and we didn't have to take them in. Some consideration should be made in my opinion for them with the IRS - we consider them members of the family.
