Anyone Else Having Their First?...

Anyone else having their first holiday's without a loved one? My mom passed away in March so Christmas 2011 was my last one with my mom, dad, and I. The season isn't as hard for me as it is for my dad because I've found an amazing guy who has been a comfort and a bit of a distraction from all the grieving, but my dad is having the hardest time. No tree and lights at the house this year, though he was able to set up the manger scene my mom loved and put wreaths up in the windows.

My biggest regret is that we knew last year would be our last Christmas together as my mom was terminally ill with Lung Cancer, but I don't remember much of it Smiley Sad. I know it was quiet and special just because it was the three of us, but I'm not sure if all the stress made me forget a lot about that day Smiley Sad. No going Christmas shopping together, no baking cookies, no wrapping gifts together, and no watching Muppets Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve together as we had for past 10 or so years...

Anyone else having a similar experience? How are you getting through it?
