I agree 100% with Chrome's owner.

Only the 20 horses that qualified at Kentucky Derby should be eligible for Belmont.

As he said, the other horses have been running their hearts out for 5 weeks and a fresh horse comes in and wins.

Doesn't seem fair to me {#emotions_dlg.angry}

His wife got after him, did you see that?

wow.....did anyone hear the owner speak?

how bitter that man is!

he said that california chrome had a target on his back and called some of the other horses/owners cowards for not racing in the other two races..... unbelievable!

I didn't hear it but that's really nothing new. Fresh horses always come in for the mile and a half, horses that might be better suited to the distance. Owners and trainers always talk about them being afraid to run in the first 2 legs. Blah Blah Blah.

Too bad really. If they'd just been gracious it would be so much better.

Chrome just didn't drop his head and do what he did the last 2 races. But he's still a wonderful horse!

I agree sunshine45!!! That's why my Secretariat is/always will be the Master!!

Kentucky and their big price stallions and mares are still King.

I hope Chrome gets extra carrots and peppermints tonite.

Actually I hope all of the horses do.

I don't think that's fair.

He was very disappointed and they had the mike in his face when he had raw emotions.

We've owned race horses for a few years and the moment at the end of each race is very emotional...win or lose.

he probably should have walked away then instead of speaking!

congratulations to tonalist on a beautiful ride......and his owner, who chose NOT to make any comment on the inappropriate comments!

It's that way EVERY YEAR, and he knows this.

He showed ZERO class by making a stink after the race for everyone to see.

That's why it's so tough to win the Triple Crown....duh! It's a matter of stamina as well as talent...plus luck too.

How dare he question the courage of owners/trainers who don't want to stress their horses to the point of a breakdown???

Far fewer drugs are allowed in NY State too. A local horse won, I think - a horse used to running without all the PEDs in his system.

I've worked in the thoroughbred business for over 20 years. This guy has worked in the business a long time as well. He knows that not all horses are prepared to race in all the triple crown races. It's been this way FOREVER.

He showed no class and that's really a shame. Not that he'd be the first in this business to show no class LOL but it took something away from his horse by doing this. No one died, no one was hurt. He should have understood that if he were to lose he'd show some respect to the winner and act like a gentleman.
