Just got a new computer with Windows 8 and Touch. It is a HUGE difference. I had XP and had to either upgrade or get a new computer.
Mine was abou 7 years old and would "Crash Dump" several times a day. Once XP was close to no longer being supported I decided to just get a new system..
Finally got it set up and this is really different and will take some getting used to for sure.
We have the desktop for everybody's use - we all have tablets, laptops and our smart phones but still use the desk top often..)
Talk about tech changes..It is a whole new ballgame this Windows 8!!
Do you like it?

I like it, the only thing that bugs me a little is the charm bar. There is a way to get rid of it if you don't have a PC. I'm still trying to figure it out though.

I got my husband an all in one touch screen for Christmas and we both detest Windows 8. We were used to 7 and realllllly miss the start tab. Those tiles are NOT an improvement. Still having troubles finding our programs. I wanted to get an all in one for myself to reduce all of the cords and nonsense on my desk but I am not going to now. I am saving up for an Apple all in one but haven't seen one with a touch screen.

My experience is that it is better to have a touch screen if you have Windows 8. That being said, my Mom was having a problem getting used to her new computer. I was telling our IT guy at work and he happened to mention if you have a Windows 8 and want the Start Button back that you can go to www.classicshell.net (sorry I can't seem to do direct link) and download the program. I downloaded this for my Mom and now she is soooo much happier with her new computer. HTH
Thank you for that tip. I am going to try that tomorrow. My husband would be thrilled to get his start button back. He hates change.
To be fair...so do I.

I have windows 8 with the touch screen. Never use the touch part of it. It is ridiculous. Windows 8 is the worse program ever. I will never buy another windows computer again. Next computer is going to be an Apple.
At least once a week I want to throw this piece of cr ap in the garbage.
