N-a-a-a-a-a-y. Daughter is F/A. will ask. I think she'd rather have a little horsey on board than some of the middle-aged men to/from a Las Vegas flight. Those guys are the back end of a horse when they're in rare form.

I am a road warrior. I usually have more than 200 flights per year. A miniature horse as an emotional support would not bother me a bit. Most animals on planes are very well behaved. I certainly cannot say that about a lot of people. ![]()

@GSPgirl The person with the emotional support animal trumps the other passengers, even the one with allergies. However, I was on a flight once where the FA asked a person to put a candy bar with peanuts in it up into the overhead because they had a person on board with peanut allergies.
As far as cleaning up after support animals, it is not up to the FA. They most likely throw a towel over it and let the ground crew handle it. I would personally hand a towel and a bag to the "emotional" person. If someone totally trashes the bathroom, it is not up to the FA to clean the bathrooms. They are there for safety first whether in the case of health emergency or a landing emergency ......not servants, not part of the cleaning crew.
I don't get this emotional support using exotic or large animals. There should be limits, but in the era of entitlement, forget it.

Why is it not in a crate under the plane where the cargo goes?
I would not get on a plane with a mini horse. All animals should be below.
If you knew the conditions of the cargo area, you would never request that an animal be put down there.....unless you don't care for animals. It is terrible. Also, if a flight gets held up at the end of the runway on a 90 degree day or a below zero day, too bad for the animal. They aren't going to go back to the gate and let it out. Also, it is not insulated and it is VERY loud.
Anyone that would do that to their animal doesn't deserve to have the honor of having a pet. @Nightowlz I am not saying that you would do this.

I feel that this emotional support baloney has really gotten out of hand. Why have the airlines let this start to begin with. If you are afraid of flying, please spare the rest of us and take a train!

I doubt that the airlines or any other business had anything to say about it. Rules and regulations, you know. More entitlements.

As a person who spends much of my life on a plane - at least 4 - 8 flights per week, I would MUCH rather have an animal that is well behaved than a person who is not. I've seen it all. Rude, disrespectful, loud people far outnumber a well behaved animal.
I am rather passionate about this as it is my life. I am on a plane and traveling more than I am home.

This is just plain crazy! People have brought on dogs that attacked the person in the seat next to them for pete's sake!! I remember it was a man that kept asking the owner of this animal if it was going to bite him (IN FEAR) and sure enough it began mauling this man!
I like tiny horses...to pet or look at down the street at the local farm here but putting them on a plane is nuts!
I just went to Vegas....and the plane was full...they were begging people to please "check" their carry on's as there was no space left for any of it. And they put a pony in the middle of the aisle? How do you get to the potty? Do you ride it up to the front of the plane....does it wait for you to take you back to your seat? Who gets the pleasure of the front end or the back end in their face for hours on end??
I pay alot of money to fly to a destination....I am not planning on having my face in a horses a@@ or smelling his breath in my face the entire trip! Or any other animal for that matter.
I thought the airlines were cleaning up this madness but if they are still allowing large animals and ones that can maul people in their seats I am thinking the public at large needs to organize a legal up roar over this nonsense.
And what is worse is that I get so sick on everything....I take medications so that I can fly....I make sure I am not going to get sick or bother a soul on a plane....it's called respect for others.
Oh one other thing...someone said they lay a napkin or something over the poop...seriously? A reeking stinking pile of poop for hours in a plane with recirculated air GAG!! I'd be tossing up my cookies for sure.
Everytime I hear about this madness it gets me so mad and upset....everything from ostriches to horses...snakes....and on and on it goes. Madness!

The article I saw where a horse was onboard was an AA flight from Omaha to Chicago, I think. Plane must have smelled like a dam barn by the time it got to Chicago, it's just sheer insanity that this goes on. I think this emotional support animal c r a p is milked to death by many people and they're probably laughing all the way to their destination at the morons that sanction this nonsense.

Honestly, I think they need to revamp this whole emotional support category of pets. There is a BIG difference between a service dog and an emotional support dog. Have done some reading up and the emotional support category is being used by people to keep their pets with them without any other responsibility. They require no special training or certification and you are not allowed to question them. This is wrong. Service dogs are wonderful and time and money is put into them to get them to this point. They are well trained and well behaved.
