Any direction for my fictional reading slump?

I'm having trouble finding anything that I can't put down. I thought I'd share some of my recent likes and dislikes and see whether someone could recommend a good author for me to check out. I've read a lot of the "free" books on Amazon and really haven found any that I couldn't put down. I recently loved Defendig Jacob and really liked the first Hunger Games (second and third were fine but not as great). I've read everything by Patricia Cornwell and Jodi Piccoult other than her newest one. Loved the old Dan Brown books when they came out, really liked Language of flowers. Gone Girl and Dark Places were good but not great for me, but I'd happily read something comparable (mystery with a twist). I love psychological thrillers when it comes to movies. I did NOT love the Twilight series (read them all but not a vampire/paranormal fan) and hated the Shades of Grey (read about 2/3 of the first one and passed on the second two). I'm not into romance novels at all. I keep thinking I will try but never finished Astronauts Wife or the Notebook if that tells you something. Anyone have a good rec for me? Pretty please? Smiley Happy I love having a few different types of books going at any one time (biographies, history and a good novel or two) but I've been lacking in the "novel" department.
