A friend in California is going through a divorce which involves selling the home. The husband is living in assisted living facility in another city, many miles away. He was placed there by one of his sons. Both my friend and her estranged husband have attorneys representing their interests. The issue I'm inquiring about is the fact that the husband's attorney is refusing to communicate with my friend's attorney. It has been almost 4 weeks now. My friend's attorney leaves messages, voice messages, sends emails, etc., yet the other attorney has refused to respond any way. Is this a breach of ethics or other requirements of being an attorney? There is a court date next month and my friend is hoping the judge will reprimand the other attorney. Is that something that could happen?
