Are you an aspiring novelist? If so then the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award (ABNA) is back for 2013 and better than ever! This year there are five winners of a publishing contract each with a $15,000 advance with one of them getting a grand prize of $50,000.

If you, a loved one, or someone you know has a novel completed (or nearly so) then dust it off, polish it up, and get it ready for entry. Entries will be accepted between January 14, 2013 and January 27, 2013. (Expect to enter on the earlier side though as the contest routinely fills up early. The entries are limited to the first 10,000.) This is the sixth year for the ABNA and it's a fun contest to enter. Your completed novel will need to be between 50,000 and 150,000 words. Full details are available at the link below. (Assuming it works. They've been tweaking things a bit.)

I've entered every year and last year I made the semifinals (top 50 of 5,000) and I'm hopping back in again this year hoping to improve on that finish. If you've got a completed novel then this is a great contest for you. It's fun, free, and legitimate. You can't beat it. (By the way, the ABNA community on Amazon is a pretty fun place to hang out if you don't mind associating with crazy authors. Just don't expect any thread there to stay even remotely on topic.)
