After years of attempting to clean my house from the couch (with dismal results), I've finally conceded defeat. I've recently started picking and choosing from Marla Cilley's* very common-sense program of taking babysteps into a land of routines and habits and schedules that can be adapted to fit varied lifestyles and which will result in a more orderly house and brain. (One hopes.)

I'm not a hoarder, but I'm bone-idle and childishly resentful of routines, and my house looks it. I'm single (late 50's) and have no one dependent on me but my pets, so I should have an easier time of keeping the house under control than most even though I work full-time and am out of the house roughly 10 hours a day.

I'd be interested in how others have managed to claw their way up from the bowels of their own personal landfills and how they've tweaked the FlyLady tenets to better fit their situations.
