To Gamers:  I am thinking about starting a cryptogram game in the Gamers forum.  I am trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Should I....

submit the crypto & put the answer in a spoiler in the same posting window?

OR

Do not use the "spoiler."  When someone completes the puzzle correctly mark it "SOLVED"?

Which one would you prefer/advise me to submit?

=============

I will only add a new cryptogram if I will be around long enough to check on them.

Please, Please, Please, cryptogram fans join in the fun & add some cryptograms of your own.  I can't be the only cryptogram lover around here. Or am I? Smiley Embarassed

@Berlybaby - it's like a secret and you have to be invited to join it.  I think one of the moderators has to invite you.

I don't know why it isn't listed in the menu.

@Mz iMac  ... I'm in awe.  Those things drive me nuts.  LOL  I hope you get enough people to play.

HEY ... any Mods on tonight?  We have posters that need to be added to Gamers.  Bet there will be a lot more when they see this post.  @Melvin-QVC, @Cindy - QVC, @QVC Mods ... anyone home? Smiley Wink

@CelticCrafter. Sometimes games are one word answers and move fast. Then they would all appear on these forums and would be annoying. Although I don’t think that many play the games anymore.

I like cryptograms, @Mz iMac.   I had a couple of favorite iPad apps but the developers abandoned them and eventually I had to give in and remove the apps.  (sigh)   Haven't found new ones to replace them.

I have access to the Gamers sub-forum.   I'd be interested in those involving cryptograms.

I think your idea of using the spoiler feature is excellent.   Perhaps the OP could put the answer in a spoiler...  and each person replying could post their answer in their own spoiler so others could choose whether or not to open and see it?   Does that make sense?

Anyway, great idea, and a good brainstorming topic!   I think you might generate new interest in the Gamers sub-forum!thumbs up gif

@Berlybaby,  After the moderators add you to the sub-forum access, it will appear in the list on the left side of the screen just below "Community Chat" when you're logged in to the site.

K, I like that idea bolded in red.  Never thought of that.  So I think I'll go w/the spoiler version.

I checked the webbed version of the AppStore ( I have no iOS hardware) & there are plenty of cryptograms for iPads.  I would think if the developers abandoned them they Apple would have removed them.

I use CryptoQuote for OS.  There is an iOS version specifically for iPads-FREE.

This app is my favorite because it is already loaded w/3100+ quotes plus a new one daily.  I've had this app since Snow Leopard OS & I have not cracked the 100 quote mark yet.
