I'm retired and don't normally go outside before noon.  I like lazy mornings!

I put off an errand yesterday - because it was too hot to go outside.  This morning, I got up a bit early and decided to "make a run for it" before it got too hot.

So I was up, showered, dressed, and fed by 10 am ... (my personal best for time).   Just had to make a quick trip around the corner (2 blocks each way) to pick up some packages.

(BTW - my Mackie crushed velvet cardigan came the other day.  Very nice!  It's dark blue with black cuffs and front edging.  It's going to work well with dress pants and indigo jeans!)

I was so surprised to see how many people were outside this early - probably doing the same as I was - trying the beat the heat .... an thunderstorm that is forecast for this afternoon.

The sky is beginnng to turn an ominous gray as I type this.

That's how May thru October is for us every day except we try and get everything done before 8 am when it's over 100. We have days when it doesn't even get out of the 90's for a low.

baltimore area also. around 9am it already hit 90 degrees. i think our high today is supposed to be 97, high humidity, heat index around 106. even with the A/C on you can still feel that humidity in the air!

one good thing about the heat......it pretty much kills my appetite. Smiley Wink

stay hydrated everyone!

@ALRATIBA    I believe we sent the hot weather over to you that we had last week but now it's rain every day and with the humidity it feels like a sauna.  This is for the Chicago area.  You did not mention where you are located.

@Katcat1

NYC .... The entire week is forecast either blazingly hot or thunderstorms through to Saturday.

Praying the forecasters are wrong!

It is much cooler today here in upstate SC and raining.  Dark and overcast sky but less chance of rain later this afternoon.   I just got the front pasture mowed and I see more mowing in my very near future.

Baking hot here too. Yesterday I was at the grocery store before 7am to beat the heat and out of there within 20 min but I could feel my head start sweating just unloading my bags into the car and walking my cart to the cart corral and back to the car. Today is a repeat with the heat/humidity. Feel for those who have to work outside all day including one of my sons.

I am hibernating in the a/c for days now.  I did run to the corner store real quick this early morning and it was already  84 and humid.  Tommorrow slightly cooler and finally the rest of the week is back to normal temps.  I do not do well in the heat when I live in the coolest part of the country.  Staying busy indoors Smiley Happy
