Everyone's so busy being careful about not standing on someone else's rights anymore, no one seems to know what's "right" anymore. JMHO

I was telling my husband about the lunchbox and all he could do was shake his head.. I said oh yeah show all those violent games on tv, look at the Kartrashians and all of that but its not okay about a silly lunchbox..
Yes us old folks won't be silenced any longer.. LOL

I saw this yesterday and find it ridiculous. I used to work in a preschool and day care when Power Rangers first came on TV. We had kids punching and kicking each other in the play yard every day and had to ban the playing of Power Rangers. We did not ban Power Ranger lunch boxes, dolls, cards, or anything else, just the punching and kicking. An image of Wonder Woman on her own is NOT the same thing as violence.
I think this "zero tolerance" stuff is bad news. Zero tolerance policies are supposed to give schools consistent ways to deal with issues, but the problem is that not all trespasses deserve the same treatment. Zero tolerance policies require school officials to disengage their brains instead of allowing them to really solve problems. Frankly, the last thing I want anyone in charge of children to do is disengage his or her brain and choose a punishment from a matrix that makes no sense.

I think it's an embarassment to our society and what we represent.

Wow, am I ever glad that I don't have children in the current school system. This really is going to far and I read the comment re the girl being sent hom because her collarbone was showing..... Now please. I just feel for the parents who have to try to explain to their children that this is a result of the school overreacting to things that are going on outside their academic base. The poor kids are going to get even more confused. Please take me back to the days when you played with kids in your neighborhood (didn't have to arrange playdates), could ride your bike on the street (without being concerned about perverts) and everyone had some idea of respecting everyone else. As a society we have made small steps in some directions and absolutely gone backwards in others. I wish all of the parents and their children well as this new academic year starts.
