@Greeneyedlady21   I forgot about that. Unbelievable that someone in this day could be so tone deaf. Or maybe there is no explanation other than she is what she is.

Just out of curiosity if she had two  white sheep and named them that, would it then be acceptable?

@beckyb1012   They weren't white sheep they were black and this is why she named them Venus and Serena. I feel that you are asking this question to make a point and not really expecting an answer.

Yes I was wanting to know if there is a difference and if the sheep white or black are named Mary Kate and Ashley would anyone be upset?

So I guess we get rid of ANY depiction of some groups of people?  All artwork showing them going to be destroyed and images wiped from viewing?

I neve know what is going to happen now.

@Lucky Charm   Yes, I see the resemblance to Czar Nicholas.

I have a set of Russian Matroyska dolls that depict

the Romanov family, including a tiny Rasputin.

It is nice to see the older royals in a photo together. They don't get acknowledged much by the photographers anymore.....they tend to follow the younger royals around, as we all know.

I probably shouldn't wade in here, but I will......   are you saying you feel that naming the sheep after serena and venus is an insult?  I don't know this person who did the naming or their intent,  but to me naming the sheep who are both black after two famous and accomplished black women sounds like an honoring to me.  Is it possible that those who are upset by it are being overly sensitive and reading a negative into something that wasn't negative?   I named my cat Sammy after my late uncle because they both had the same coloration, orange/red hair.  I named my black cat Bradley after Mayor Bradley.  Both compliments.

I agree @moonandthestars , I don't find the naming of the sheep offensive either. People sometimes name pets after famous people. My neighbor when I was a kid named his dog John Wayne, who was quite popular back in the day.  I think people try to be offended over every little thing.

When i was in the 6th grade a boy who was the son of my parent's favorite couple's friends (I was subjected to being around this boy every dang weekend)  he named his guinea pig after me.  I almost threw up when my Mom told me she thought it was adorable.  I was 12, now I see what a compliment it was.

@beckyb1012  lol.  great story!  It is adorable but I can see how it would have come as a shock to you, as a 12 yr. old girl.  Plus I gather that kid was not your favorite person to be around.  Do you think he had a crush on you?

@KKJ  I agree with that.  People are so easily offended these days -  They see offenses everywhere.

John wayne is a cute name for a dog (or cat) - hopefully they can live up to the swag that name carries with it!

Gotta love it:

H&M are demanding all photos taken during the alleged car chase.

Response:

Backgrid's lawyers rejected the request by reportedly writing in a letter, "In America, as I'm sure you know, property belongs to the owner of it: third parties cannot just demand it be given to them, as perhaps kings can do.

"Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the crown were rejected by this country long ago. We stand by our founding fathers."

Hilarious.
