Here we go again. Missing for over eight hours. Airasia flight 8501 So sad.

I just turned on CNN about 4am and heard about it...been listening since then...it is very sad...

There is, also, a Ferry on fire...dang I can't remember where...but the fire is ongoing and they are having difficulty getting near it...last I heard they have only been able to get 35 people off....

The people on board that ferry are using their cell phones calling for more help...they are not sure if they should jump into the sea or wait it out....That is very sad, too...

Haven't heard about the ferry. The plane is being covered. I would think that much was learned from the mission triple 7 last March on how to look for a missing plane. Hopefully this one will be found and there won't be any mystery.

With thousands & thousands of flights every day I am not surprised. A family members plane was delayed 5 hours yesterday because of weather. Then had to circle for 2 hrs to land. I don't fly.

I saw on the internet that they found wreckage of that plane.

I don't think so. Search has been suspended until daylight due to the weather.

Years ago I was flying back to LA from Hawaii. We circled for 2 hours around Santa Barbara before getting the okay to come on in to land at LAX. The pilot poured it on. Things aren't always just cut and dry in the air or on the airways. Other international flights have delays for whatever reasons and they will get priority to land first if they had a very long distance to arrive, as well as the flights with troubles. For people to believe that things are precisely a perfect schedule and flight is not really dealing with reality. That was when Pan-Am was still in business years ago.

No wreckage has been found yet.

I haven't seen any reports that they found it. To be clear, we are talking about the AirAsia flight 8501 that disappeared over the Java Sea, going from Indonesia to Singapore. Contact was lost 7:24 a.m. local time on Sunday 12/28. The last reports I saw said the search has been halted as night falls.

Prayers for the people on board and their loved ones who must wait for news. I can't imagine going through that.
