Maria Von Trapp - last of the singing Von Trapp family siblings has passed on and has ended her journey of life, she was 99 and died of natural causes. You may remember the influence of the family and their story on the Musical 'The Sound of Music'.

Wow, that is dedication. I am saddened as the movie was a part of my growing up and I enjoyed the film. Also, knowing that it took place and that people strive to overcome and survive was very motivating.

I guess I assumed she passed a long time ago. We vacationed several times at the Von Trapp Lodge in Vermont, when our girls were small. Perfect place for a fantasy vacation We went once in winter but summer was our favorite time to go. My daughter very briefly thought of having her wedding there but her guest list grew too big for a distance wedding. It's an amazing place to vacation.
