Is anyone familiar with this author? I believe she writes teen and young adult books. If you're familiar with her books, I have a question- what age group is considered "young adult"?

I've looked at tons of reviews on Amazon and the description of some of her books say "young adult", but I'm not sure what age group that is.

I'm buying a few books for a gift for a teen girl and I read that people who love Sarah Dessen will love Angie Stanton's books. The person I'm buying for loves Sarah Dessen, but I don't want to buy books that are too old for her.

Can anyone help me with this?
