Every year I send Christmas cards out for the Angel Card Project.  These cards go to strangers who are in need of holiday cheer.  Some are in nursing homes, some widowed with no one at home, children who are bullied and feel that they have no friends, and the list goes on.  I get a detailed list during the first week of December and can send one card or cards to all.  The detail includes names, addresses, ages, and why they are in need of holiday cheering.

The reason that I am posting is not only to let others know that they can also volunteer, but you can also submit names of people who might enjoy a holiday card.  It can be a very lonely time for many during the holidays, and this is one way, hopefully, that spreads some holiday cheer.

This is a great idea, thank you for posting as I've never heard of this before.  I will definitely sign up to participate.  We all get so caught up in decorating, shopping, wrapping, cooking, etc. that we often don't stop to think of how we can actually help others, especially during the holidays.

@SXMGirl

I want to become involved in this program. Do you write a message inside and sign your name on the cards?

@butterfly123, I usually write something like "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays."  No money should be sent, even though some probably do.  However, all we are asked to do is sign our name on the card.

I have been involved in this project for a few years and it really makes me appreciate everything that I have.

@pugvette74 - Google "Angel Card Project" (not Program).  I did and it was the first thing that came up.  It sounds like a really nice thing to do.
