Underwater tunnels have been around for decades.  Growing up in Baltimore, I would bet I have gone through the Balltimore Harbor tunnel hundreds of times and it never phased me.  While it is quite narrow, I just never really thought much about it. What does kinda skeeze me out is when one tube is  two way at times.  You almost scrape folks mirrors passing by!  The Ft. McHenry tunnel in Canton also goes under the Baltimore Harbor but it's wider than the older harbor tunnel.   To me it's like a bridge under water.  You don't know you're under water. It's just a road.  

With the collapse of the Key Bridge, that Harbor tunnel traffic is going to be backed up for miles and miles...ugghhhh glad I don't have to drive it anymore.

As a desert dweller, this seems as foreign and frightening to me as outer space and about as stable... EEEKKK

I'm sure you've been through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, too.

That's enough to give me the willies for weeks.

I can still manage the Bay Bridge, but it's white knuckles and eyes straight ahead.
