Amish Mafia...?

Is this show supposed to be some sort of joke? I watched about 10 minutes of it...and I'm still confused.

How is it that people in the "Amish Mafia" are still considered "Amish?"

I'm also confused by the apparent lack of knowledge by these Amish Mafia guys...did they never learn that organized crime is supposed to be secret, rather than televised?

Someone please tell me these idiots are just acting.
