Do the other judges do that? I thought judges were supposed to give honest critiques, no campaign for one over the other.
Honestly, I don't see it as a campaign for one contestant over the other. Jena's rendition of Falling in Love IMO was very moving and apparently JLo was quite moved by it too. Her reaction just conveyed that she thought Jena's performance was outstanding. I haven't seen JLo consistently pushing for Jena. I think the judges have shown partiality on many occasions even from their chairs, just by saying "That was the best performance of the night" or by giving a standing ovation. Harry is the only judge who has stated that he won't give a standing ovation for any contestant because he is a judge.
I tend to agree with Harry, and I am not even watching the show at all. I just watched online the two performances that everyone was talking about here. I think J Lo was out of line, especially this late in the game. Harry is right: he's a judge and should be critiquing what he hears that's good and advising about improvement, not running down to the stage carrying on like a teenage fan and then trying to get the audience to react with more cheers and applause. That is what I observed J Lo do, after Jena's performance. But who the heck am I to say anything? There are many things about the show that I object to, which is why I quit watching it a while ago. I wish any of them the best after what they go through to be on that show.

It irritated me to no end. No way should a judge do that for any contestant.

I totally agree with you; IMO, Harry is the best judge during this season. I remember one year when J Lo did the same thing with another female contestant. What does that say to the rest of the contestants? We will continue to watch; however, it sure wouldn't break my heart to see J Lo as a judge next season.
