Re: American Idol - Is It Just Me?

I've heard the judges say this is the best AI year to date!!! For me this is totally untrue. Actually, IMO it's one of the worst years. I can't even watch an entire show this year and have no idea who might win. In previous years I enjoyed voting for my favorite. This year I haven't voted at all.

It seems to be all about the judges this year! I enjoy their antics--the guys are trying so hard to get J-lo's attention. It seems like they just picked names out of a hat for the talent.

They are not her type. She doesn't like ""manly"" men. I think she likes them as friends. I really like this group. Couldn't watch AI for several years because of the nutty judges.

These guys are fun. I never thought Harry could be so comical!

Everyone praises Caleb. Did you happed to hear him say he would pick a Journey song that will please all the "old ladies?" Don't care for him . . . or his "talent." He will win, of course, because that has already been decided.

Hi Ford....yes, when he sang that Journey song he said he hoped to make some old ladies cry. What an idiotic thing to say.

Harry had suggested he sing a quiet song this week, so this was the one C chose and even Harry said that it was obvious C was disinterested in the first half of the song and couldn't wait until he could get back to screaming the second part of the song (my words). His voice goes right through me, so high pitched and gritty. He puts my teeth on edge. Once he started with the screeching, I muted the sound.

The best duet was Alex and Sam's "This Girl is Mine," MJ's 80s hit. Their voices harmonized perfectly.

I thought that was a sweet and charming duet.

They said they play together all the time offstage. I could really relax sitting on sofa in front of a nice warm fire and listen to them all night.

And just remember, Chris Daughtry didn't win, Jennifer Hudson didn't win, Clay Aiken didn't win, Kelly Pickler didn't win, and Adam Lambert didn't win. Yet they all became big stars and some of the winners have never been heard from again!

Re: American Idol - Is It Just Me?

I haven't seen that much because I too think it has run it's course and haven't liked it since Simon left but my sister is here and she likes to have it on. I haven't heard anyone that has a great voice. In fact, what we saw last night was boring; not one shred of personality shown by any of them. And the judges are boring. They love everyone and rarely even give any constructive feedback. UGH. I miss Simon.

I wish someone would wipe the smug look off his face. He thinks he is the greatest......yeah greatest screamer!! This is the worst season by far. The only two I like are CJ as at least he is humble and connects to the audience and Sam. Sam is beyond shy but has a pure voice. He hasn't learned how to do all the other stuff. Jenna, Gina, another one so full of herself. While sitting on the benches watching the other contestants sing she looked like she could kill someone. Jess, seems pained every time she sings. Alex reminds me on Tiny Tim, I expect "Tiptoe through the Tulips" any moment(in his own style of course).

I love Caleb. I think it's only offensive if you consider yourself an old lady.

He looks like he needs a good bath and haircut, but when that one contestant cleaned up, he got voted off. The young girls like them looking raunchy. Harry needs a good shave, but he wants to fit in. He is one SOB. I like the other guy, he has talent. Never thought Harry could carry a tune.

Seriously? I've read he has perfect pitch.

David Cook did a great job mentoring! Yeah, CJ is pitchy, but he does connect with the audience. I don't think there's star quality there. Nice guy, though.
