First of all, was the seller Amazon or was it another seller going through Amazon? Amazon doesn't control policies of independent sellers but I am sure if you contact Amazon directly they will refund your $15 and correct the situation with the seller. Your one bad ordering experience, doesn't counteract the millions of good experiences others have had.

That's what I was thinking, not Amazon but a seller selling through them. I am very hesitant to order something that is not from Amazon or fulfilled by them.

I love Amazon Prime. I joined around 4 months ago, and I have no complaints

Amazon CS is usually so nice and easy to work with. There was one time something didn't arrive to me on time. They refunded the money, and let me keep the book.

It was an Amazon Prime purchase through Amazon. That's the only way I go for 99% of my Amazon purchases! Still no reply to my email asking for their guidelines on restocking fees. {#emotions_dlg.confused1} Hmmmm!!!? Makes me think there are no standards ifs ands and whys!

The seller was Amazon. I rarely go through other sellers - and even fewer times go outside of Prime. I was stunned to see something so sleazy (can't think of a better word for it!) than to sneak in a $15 restocking fee in lieu of a return shipping fee! Out in the b&m world that's called bait and switch!

Contact them and sort it out.

ETA I just read that you got your fee refunded. Happy they gave it back to you. I've never had a problem with Amazon Prime. Their CS is really easy to work with.

I have never had a problem with Amazon. I have had Amazon Prime since it's inception. So, you had one problem and call them sleazy? One issue with a contact person and think their service stinks? Get real. Amazon continues to have the best customer service. You try and play games with their service, and you think they are sleazy. It takes all kinds.

I think maybe the OP might have purchased an item that was not Amazon fulfilled........there is a difference.......... that company may have a restocking charge which is something that a lot of companies do.................................raven

BBR is correct. Amazon has items that are not "Amazon Fulfilled" but fall under Prime Shipping. There is a difference.

I have had a couple issues with items that were "fulfilled" and it was always resolved to my satisfaction and pocketbook lol.

I recently ordered a bookcase that came without instructions and then was scratched! We looked up the instructions online and had somebody put it together for me then to find out as he went along it was scratched.

I contacted Amazon and they said they had no access to the instructions gave me info on the company who did not call back. I then found the scratches and they said to return it. I said the box is long gone and it is 1/2 put together..the CS email told me to get the box back and tape it OR go buy a box! huh go buy a box huge enough to put the shell of a book case in. When I complained they sent UPS to the house LOL..he wouldn't take it without a full box..I emailed back and was irate this time..and they sent me an email apologizing all over the place for the email telling me to go find the box and tape it OR go buy one LOL..they told me just toss it, keep it do whatever but they refunded my money and don't worry about the item!

Then I noticed it went up to $199...I only paid $129 ..bad review and the price goes up lol!!

I love my Amazon Prime and Amazon and every complaint has always been resolved to my satisfaction. This is the first one that actually took several emails but it ended well..

I have never had one iota of a problem with Amazon. I've been a Prime Member going on 4 years now and I've NEVER had to pay a restocking fee. Couldn't be happier with Amazon. Money very well spent.
