Walmart has stepped up and is offering free S&H and TWO DAY DELIVERY with $35. purchase PLUS no annual fee!

@febe1, the bought Jet and that's what Jet offers now.  I haven't purchased anything from Jet, I never find anything I want there.

Hi, @itiswhatitis. I just got some advertisements on Jet and haven't looked into it yet. I buy from both Amazon & Walmart. I will continue to check both out for price. When I find something I like, I continue buying the same thing for a while, so I do know Amazon can be much higher in price on some things I buy.

I've never ordered online with WalMart. And I've never been disappointed in my Amazon purchases. So I just have another source for purchases.

@febe1, Jet is not so bad if you can find what you want.  They have the two day shipping once you spend a certain amount.  The last time I looked on Jet, they had a 15% off coupon for your first three orders.  Still couldn't find what I wanted.

That's good to know,  @itiswhatitis.   I've looked at the Jet site a few times and so far haven't found anything I want/need, but wondered what others think of it.    Regarding the topic of Walmart vs. Amazon...   I have a hard time accepting Walmart's practices (things they do to push out local business, poor wages/benefits for employees, etc.) especially since they seem so different from the founder's principles.   I was a real fan when Walmart was under his guidance, and his "associates" truly were a part of the corporate family.   Comparing costs, I keep finding better prices on Walmart's website and even though I've tried Amazon's Prime I don't use their site or products enough to justify the fee.  Both sites change product prices frequently, so it's good to keep checking.   Amazon's shipping is very, very slow for a non-Prime member, while Walmart's is usually fast -- just my experience, and I see after reading many posts here and on other threads it seems to vary a lot.   I've found both of them to have very good customer service.    I think some of our experiences depend on what we want/need to buy and perhaps also on our geographic location.

Hi, taja,  I still won't shop at Walmart.  My local stores are awful and so are their global politics.

The fasted shipping I have ever gotten is from Jet... I'm talking their regular shipping, not 2-day. It's incredibly fast and so far nothing broken or lost.

Thanks for the info about Jet, @SilleeMee!   I'll keep watching their prices and merchandise.

I frequently shop Amazon and Wal-Mart but I much prefer Amazon for product selection, speed of delivery and customer service.  Additionally their web site is much more user friendly.  As I live in a small city, these are my only real choices day to day.

@patbz, I agree about the website.   Walmart needs to work on theirs if they want to be competitive.

In some markets, Amazon can deliver the same day.  I sure wish they would bring that program to my area sooner than not.  Amazon also has Prime Grocery as well as their own drivers to deliver merchandise (where possible).

@dooBdoo, I have ordered from Walmart only one time.  I had no problems with my order and it came in the proper time frame.

I have Prime for a number of reasons:

I share it with my son or daughter so we share the cost of the membership.

I can find just about anything on there and I order a lot from them (including clearance clothing and other fashion items)

They Amazon Services  (this is a program they have instituted that lets you pick from many qualified people to do work around the home or help with an odd job.

I wonder if perhaps I didn't need some of the options since I don't use any of Amazon's devices.   I don't have anyone to share the membership with, but that's a great boon for those who can.  Thanks for the follow-up on this.   I'll take time to peruse more of their services and see what might be useful.     I agree, their range of products and selections is exceptional, and it's going to take a lot of work for any other company to match that.    Thanks, again!

@dooBdoo, you're welcome.  I don't use those devices either, but my son takes advantage.  You can actually watch videos at your computer or on your Smart TV.

I havent shopped Walmart in 24 years.  IMO, when people talk about american small businesses and downtown shopping  leaving , starting in the 1980's....it wasnt overseas. It was walmart, then overseas.  As soon as nafta was finalized they were overseas and made their vendors go there, or their product was dropped.  When they lied to our town, they created a mess.  Not one employee comes from out town either.  Dont get me started

it never meant that much to save a dollar at the cost of my neighbors business.  But what do I know.

@shoekitty, Oh, how I do understand.   Many of my family (and family friends) had small, local businesses, and I know what went into that and also what a jewel such businesses are in the "community crown," so to speak.   I tried not to say much since I didn't want to take the thread in that direction.    It weighs on my conscience, it really does.
