Re: Amazon To Start Charging Some Customers To Return Via UPS

I do my Amazon returns another way.  I print out the return label and tape it on the package, then slip it into a UPS pickup box.  They are all over the place.  The closest one is a few blocks away.

This only works if the package is small enough to fit into the return bin.

Where I live, Whole Foods and Kohls are in Hyannis which is over 25 miles away, the UPS store is much closer. If I make a return I won't be charged the extra fee.

Re: Amazon To Start Charging Some Customers To Return Via UPS

it seems like Amazon built too much too fast and now they're back peddling. When there was a return, the UPS man used to come to my door and take it back for free. That all stopped last year. For me, the UPS store is 20 minutes each way, not very convenient. If I have to start paying for returns, I will think twice about paying for the Prime membership. I never watch Amazon video.

If UPS is closer, you will NOT be charged.  Returns will remain FREE.

Well I guess I lucked out, because the UPS store is definitely closer to me than any of the other choices..

We're usually pretty good with A so we don't return a lot to them but the only option nearby is UPS and they make it so easy. The owner of the location said that they saved his business, and since we don't have a Whole Foods or Kohls anywere near us we are thankful to have this option.

The closest UPS store just changed ownership. Old owners hated Amazon returns and was really rude about processing items. The new owners are a family and they are delightful about helping with all services. I am more than happy to give them my business,  but probably would not have stopped there at all if it wasn't for Amazon returns.

@Marp

I will believe it when I am notified by Amazon. You mentioned your source period

From our home there have been few returns. On a few, they told me I didn't need to return the defective items. The ones we did return via UPS? They visit our home often enough that I just hand it to the driver, don't think we even have a Kohl's store here any more.

Another story about Amazon that I ain't buying, unless and until, I get direct information from Amazon, not some questionable media source.

@Kachina624   Knowing Amazon CS as well as I do (I also return VERY LITTLE) my experience is that if a wrong item is sent or the item is defective, they would tell me to keep or donate it.
