Thanks for the info chickenbutt!

Glad to help, Q!
Hey Noel - I just did some googling and found out that this fire is between Sacramento and here. That's why the smoke keeps blowing in. It's already here by 1pm today. I went outside to feed the birdies and it's just as smoky in my house today.
wah. Ok, enough whining. I just hate to know there is a wildfire - all those little baby animals getting hurt. I can't even think about it.

CB -
There was a fire near Weed the other day that got out of hand, and there's a new one that's threatening 2000 homes. I'll look up the location. I get upset about the animals and birds also.
Edit to add:
Authorities say they have arrested a man on suspicion of arson in a fast-growing California wildfire that has driven nearly 2,800 people from their homes.
The arrest of 37-year-old Wayne Allen Huntsman was announced Thursday.
The 111-square-mile fire 60 miles east of Sacramento is threatening about 12,000 homes around the town of Pollock Pines. It has been fueled by gusty winds, along with timber and grass that is bone dry because of the state's ongoing drought.
The fire more than doubled in size between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. It is only 5 percent contained.

Thanks for the info, Noel! Oh dear, I'm just glad the guy got caught. I guess it's going to be like this for a while. I also feel badly for my bird, for Rupert, and for the little birdies outside that I feed.
They don't need to be breathing that smoke.
I just wish it hadn't infiltrated the house too. What a horrible thing to do, to start a fire and endanger so many others, not to mention the disrespect to the land. ugh! *mad*
It already looks like Los Angeles in the 70s out there - just a brownish, greyish, white sky. You cannot even see the Sierra Nevadas from my house. Usually, as I'm West of town, I can look out my south/southwest windows and see the mountains.

I'm concerned for you, CB. I wish you could get out of the immediate area.

Aw, thanks Noel. I appreciate your thoughts. Unfortunately, I'm not going anywhere so the bird, the dog, and I will tough it out. I just keep things closed up as much as possible.
The fire is halfway between Sacto and here, so there is no thread of the fire - just the smoke. People like me don't do well with heavy smoke.
I remember back when Mt St Helens blew. Even down here there was heavy smoke and ash here for a long time. Back then I parked my car outside (apt. bldg.) and had to clear the ash from the car every day to drive to work! This feels a lot like that only it's just smoke.

My daughter and I both have asthma, so I understand. We had problems during the two fires in the Oakland hills, and we got the Mt. St. Helens smoke and grit, also. I'll be thinking of you, CB

Thanks, Darlin! It is appreciated. If we had somewhere to go I'd probably gather the boys up and head there. The husband is staying in his office as much as possible but, fortunately, he doesn't have breathing problems. I called him a little bit ago and he was in a meeting so he must be in his office. Glad for that! ![]()
Sorry to the OP. Sometimes I get started and, well, no excuse.
