I have had prime for several years and no complaints. I have had a delivery or 2 via the post office but no issues with that.

Not everything is eligible for prime.

I've recently started ordering from Amazon and have had excellent luck with almost everything ( maybe 20 items or so).....except for ONE thing.  My eclipse glasses came thru the post office....one day late.  😂🤣😂🤣. ( got notice from PO that they couldn't find my house the day before.....I live on a normal street, normal access, etc)

@Group 5 minus 1, that may have been delivered by USPS. Maybe they didn't get the memo.

Many of the items that Amazon sells are shipped by a third party and not the Amazon Fulfilment Centers.

That makes a big difference!

Thanks all.  It was NOW Glucosamine and it was direct from Amazon.  States Prime 2 Day right on the order.

Just the first time this has happened and it surprised me.

I've always gotten my packages the day that is stated.

Re: Amazon Prime warning

[ Edited ]

I am also one who loves Amazon and orders entirely too much from them Woman Wink

I've found usually if you look at the item listing on the right side it will say "Ships From" and "Sold By". If the seller's name (instead of Amazon) is shown where the "Ships From" is you will probably get whoever the seller uses to ship, including delivery services like "LaserShip" and "Blue Streak".

But I too just had a aggravating thing happen last week. I ordered some fudge from Amazon, and the seller used FedEx to ship it.

I had also ordered something from Costco and it was also shipped FedEx. It just so happened that both packages were out for delivery on the same day.

At 11:21 AM the FedEx Amazon fudge order tracking showed "Delivery Attempted: Business was closed. Will attempt again" and then at 11:23 AM the FedEx Costco order showed "Delivered".

Uh, it's a condo building, not a business, and with 247 units deliveries are made all day, every day. It seems there's always UPS, USPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. vehicles here.

Two minutes apart, one package delivered, one undelivered? I figure it had to be the same FedEx driver making deliveries since the times were that close, and that he must have made some kind of error. Maybe he had his scanner dialed in incorrectly at first?

If the driver would have just discovered the mistake and bought it back the next day for redelivery it would have been fine with me, but instead of attempting again the tracking had an update "Package Available for Pick Up".

He had delivered it to a local pick up location (Walgreens). I had to go there and pick it up. It was just a PIA because I had other plans - but at least the fudge was great!

Ordered a supplement on Tuesday, Checkout said would be delivered Thursday.  It was actually delivered late Saturday via USPS snail mail.

Those of you who order from Amazon lots may know they deliver by the Post Office.  This was a surprise to me.  Not sure why I pay for Amazon Prime when they don't deliver as they promise.  Could have ordered from a cheaper source if I had known they would deliver slowly with the Post Office.

Hi @Seannie ,

When you order something from them, look over at the order info. section to the right on your screen where you can choose One Time Only or Subscribe and Save.

There's a lot of info. to look at over in that section, but you'll also see if your product is shipping from a third party vendor, or if it's going to come from Amzn.

It took awhile for my husband and I to figure this out, but third party vendors will ship something however they decide to do it.

They might use an outside shipper like UPS or FedEx or the Post Office.

In our experience, most of the time it will be the post office if the product is small enough to ship and come that way.
