I just switched our settings from monthly to annual. Not sure why I had it set to monthly anyway. When it renews on Feb 9th, it will be locked in at the current annual price instead of the increased price and we will be set for the year.

Thanks for the heads up @SeaMaiden. I might have just left it alone and not thought about it if you hadn't brought this up.

Well nuts, mine renews in April, but for me it's still worth it.

I get the advantage of the movies, but one thing I don't get is that so many things shipped from outside vendors still have shipping costs even with prime. Isn't that right?

I don't order much from them anyway, mostly for grandkids too and sometimes other things which is easy to add up to $25 (if not a vendor who charges 12 or something for a $1-2 item!).

Still for those like my kids who order a lot from them, I guess it is an advantage.

Also, sometimes Amazon has ridiculous prices for essential things like tissue, or cleaning products. I always go to other places for mostly.

I'll renew at the end of the year. And I don't buy from vendors that charge a shipping fee.

Their essential items are really overpriced, so I buy those elsewhere too.

Re: Amazon Prime increase

Well Mr. Bezos has to find a way to pay the NFL so his Prime Video can be the exclusive carrier of Thursday Night Football....🙄  Somebody's gotta pay for it!

So much for Amazon.  I decided to try the free trial and then 3 or 4 days later did not want it so I cancelled it.  They don't stop trying.  Amazon sent an email saying my charge account no. was not working and they wanted to charge me.  How dare they?  Luckily,  I had a new no, due to card being lost.  ha! ha! Amazon.

Besides free shipping, don't members also get the streaming movies through Roku, Apple or whatever?

@Another new name Sue

Yes, I can watch Amazon content on my Television in my Living room which is a Roku TV, and on my bedroom TV, I utilize the fire stick.

For me it's not difficult at all to rack up at least $25 worth of stuff and have it shipped for free. Now that my city has a brand new Amazon Distribution center that means my orders are at my door really fast. I like that!

@SilleeMee    We have a new one too and recently started getting Amazon Delivery but I haven't noticed packages arriving any faster.  In fact, they're much slower than they were a couple years ago.

@on the bay , They play pricing games for sure. I only order prime items or ones specifically from Amazon. The upside is that the service is excellent, and returns are easy. Tracking is always on point and when you choose a refund , it is prompt. Is Amazon perfect, no, but when you live in a small town with few shopping options, it is a godsend. I also have aKindle  and often get good deals on books. It's not for everybody and not all items, but it works for me.

I just never see what the shipping charges are for outside vendors until I lool at the cart and see it has increased so much then have to find which thing has the shipping charge.

Is there a way to know this right away? Am I not looking in the right place?
