Today, I received four (4) phone calls from "Amazon" claiming that there was possible fraudulent charge on my account of $700 made in Dayton, Ohio.

It was a computer voice, and for a moment, I thought that it was real.

Just to be sure, I checked my account on Amazon, no charges were there that I didn't make.

Of course it goes without saying that yes, I did check my charge card too, and nothing amiss there either.

I thought that I would just pass this along in case anybody else gets a call from "Amazon" .

Something funny happened to me this weekend when I got an email from Amazon that someone was trying to log into my Amazon account.

Turned out it was my DH who was sitting in front of me on his laptop, ordering something on our Amazon account (it's in my name), LOL!

I did appreciate their diligence, but I know your situation was a different situation, I was just surprised that they notified me of his logging in.

Glad you didn't fall for the scam, it pays to check them out.

@Anonymous032819  Two years ago I had to cancel every bank account, credit card and buy a new computer  because I fell for an incredibly realistic Amazon scam. These perpetrators were so clever they had an identical page to Amazon, complete with my name on it when I decided to look up a product. The page said I needed to call their 800 number and within minutes they were in my computer. Long story short, I alerted Amazon to this very sophisticated scam and they told me they knew all about it- but they did NOTHING to warn their customers who were vulnerable to it. My husband got a text message today saying our Amazon account had been hacked. Checked Amazon's website and nothing was wrong. Watch out for these evil crooks!!

@Anonymous032819   Yes, I've had two very similar calls on voice mail in the last month.  It must be the new rage.

I had that same call a few months ago.  Called for about 3 days straight, a few times a day, till it stopped.  I've also had Apple emails, and PayPal emails, that look very legit.  I knew right away they were phishing, but they're definettly getting more sophisticated.  Keep up with learining about this stuff.  It's the way of the world now.

@Anonymous032819.  As long as you keep answering your phone when you get these calls, you'll continue to receive them.  I never answer calls from unfamiliar numbers and get maybe one call every two months.  I figure important callers will call back.  I also don't have an answering machine.  There is nothing on my line to make a scammer thing its a live, active number with a waiting sucker.

I get at least 3 recorded scam calls a week stating that it is Amazon and that if I don't pay my bill there will be repurcussions.  Whenever you order from Amazon it has to be paid for before they will send you the item.  There is never a "bill" to pay.
