Re: Amazon Not Keeping to Schedule

When I get a shipping notice from Amazon, it lists all the items in the package ... and the expected arrival date.

Amazon sends me tracking emails while package is on the way.

I use their "subscribe and save" and with a rare exception .. everything is in one big box.

Re: Amazon Not Keeping to Schedule

@ALRATIBA   I have 31 items on my Subscribe&Save that are delivered each month.  This month: NOTHING ARRIVED.  I received an email stating that there was a "problem."  I called CS and was told the S&S order was "lost."  I inquired how that could have happened? (Maybe stolen??) There are always MANY boxes.  Anyway, they refunded me for all the "lost" items BUT I had to spend quite a bit of time RE-ORDERING EACH ONE.

Also, had an incident ordering an item (trash can) from a 3rd party vendor that Amazon handled.  I ordered and then about 10 minutes later pulled up order ONLY TO FIND that vendor was charging me $50.00 for SHIPPING!!!

I IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED THE ORDER and ordered another trash can with free shipping.  The ORIGINAL VENDOR SENT THE item I CANCELLED ANYWAY!  I was furious.

Had a LOT of aggrevation and "back-an-forth" with Amazon because 3'rd party vendor was either unavailable or unwilling to take the item back at THEIR EXPENSE.

Amazon sent me free shipping label for UPS to return item to 3rd party vendor but item so HEAVY I had to pay someone to bring it downstairs to my car.

I will finally return to UPS tmrw. Amazon told me 3rd party vendor will immediately refund my $$ and if, for any reason, they don't, then Amazon will do so.

LESSON:  Be very careful when ordering from "marketplace" 3rd-party vendors from Amazon!

Re: Amazon Not Keeping to Schedule

It may work for you but not for someone like me. I work graveyard shifts Thursday-Sat and leave the house at around 5:00 pm. I don't return until the following day at around 9:00 am. I do choose specific delivery day because I can't be sitting down after 5:00 pm waiting to see if the driver delivers my packages. Many times, I can't go to work if they come after hours with the fear someone will take the box throughout the night. It had happened before. Thus, when I ask an specific delivery day, I expect it to be honored by Amazon instead of ..."surprise..your package has arrived earlier" when I can't leave my job until the next day. So I understand the concerns of Amazon not delivering as requested and/or without any notice.

Re: Amazon Not Keeping to Schedule

@Sooner.  Amazon has never been consistent with my deliveries.   I see now some things are shipped to arrive the next day and delivered 4-8am.  Who wants their doorbell rung resulting in a chorus of barking dogs at 4am?

Amazon may be shipping your items from multiple warehouses like QVC does so they can't be shipped together, or shipped by vendors.  I surely get sick of dealing with all of the boxes.

@Kachina624 Yes!  Dealing with boxes is a pain and scared me silly when one came at 4 a.m.!   I am making a big effort to get them in fewer deliveries. And there is a huge warehouse about 15 miles from us. UPS is a mystery. FedEx is bizarre to say the least, and Amazon--who knows what they come up with!  Woman LOL

select your shipping day with fewer trips to your address

@jackthebear That's the problem.  I do that but then some of it comes days before still.

Ok, wait. You are complaining because packages are coming earlier?  This is a new one.

And you know that things ship from different warehouses all across the country don't you?  Just because you might order 4 or 5 things at the same time it doesn't mean they are all at the same warehouse.  So they arrive separately.

I'm sorry, but I'm not with you on this post.

@gidgetgh Yes, I want everything for that week to come on one day if I specify that it come on one day and in fewer boxes.  If they don't intend to do that, they shouldn't put it as an option.

We have a gigantic warehouse about 15 miles from us, so things I'm sure come through there. And no, I do not want stuff on the porch every day and more packing.

I'm sure your things are probably coming from different warehouses scattered throughout the country. That's why the different packages. I've order multiples of an item and they were shipped in separate packages. You can choose to have things shipped using the less package option but it will take longer.

@Meowingkitty YES.  I DO that.  That is my complaint.  If I specify a certain day it should be delivered on that day or don't offer that option. I don't want it early.  I don't want more delivery days.
