Re: Amazon Blocks Sellers From Using FedEx For Prime Deliveries

@NickNack

I’ve had a few packages coming FED-EX ground the last couple weeks. They are definitely behind. Original delivery date keeps changing. I had one scheduled for last Friday, then it changed to Saturday. After that if just said “delivery pending.” It was delivered on Sunday. Now a package I was supposed to get today shows Thursday. What really scares me is companies are still “guaranteeing” delivery by 12/24 if you order by today. One of the companies ships fed-ex ground. I think there will be a lot of disappointed customers, myself included. I have several items coming & I ordered last week. I doubt they’ll be here in time. They were all Christmas gifts.

I don't find FedEx to be as fast as it used to be.  Now, sellers might be selecting a cheaper delivery method (which I am unaware of), but FedEx i not as reliable as in past years.

Re: Amazon Blocks Sellers From Using FedEx For Prime Deliveries

The explosion of online shopping has swamped the infrastructure that manages and delivers the packages. Add to this overworked and stressed warehouse workers, porch pirates, winter weather, and seasonal spike in ordering and it's no wonder that package delivery is wonky.

I use FedEx to ship my documents for work.   They are usually really good.  However, during the past week or two all my packages have been delivered a day late.  This causes major problems because the documents are needed for Real Estate Closing.

I have so many problems with FedEx. UPS & USPS are great.

FedEx, for some reaFedEx delivers packages all over the place & then depends on me on my neighbors to get my packages to me.

You would think that they would at least get it on the right side of the road. Even numbers on one side of the road. Odd numbers on my side of the road. Sheesh!

I had horrible problems with UPS.  I used to use them but they lost too many packages and delivered too many packages late so I switched to FedEx.  I ONLY use USPS Express mail if my overnight packages have to go to a PO Box.

The Nightly News just had a segment on this.  They said FedEx efficiency is down this season and packages might not get there in time.  I haven't had any problems with my FedEx deliveries.

@NickNack   This is good  news.  I just received a package, four days late, and several times, FedEx emailed something was delivered when it was not.  It even lost an over $200 item, but Walmart refunded me.

Walmart uses FedEx and I've had problems since the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when Walmart started their Black Friday sale.

I had several orders that were suppose to arrive by Saturday after Thanksgiving and some on Cyber Monday (they do the 2 day ship like Amazon).  They didn't.  They are/were sitting in Pennsylvania and Ohio for over 2 weeks.

I contacted FedEx, they claim the delays are due to weather. I'm in Michigan.  There's been no weather in Ohio that would bring everything to a standstill for more than 2 weeks.  Give me a break.

I contacted Walmart about my orders being in limbo, they refunded my money, sent replacements "next day" shipping at no cost to me and told me to keep the "limbo" ones if they ever showed up. "Feel free to donate or re-gift" the CS rep said.

The replacement orders arrived FedEx Express the next day (they even went through Ohio, go figure).

2 of the original orders arrived Saturday (17 days from ordering), looking like they've been through a war zone. My regular FedEx man has no answer to what is going on. I still have some orders currently sitting at FedEx hubs in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Walmart always gets a lot of hate, but I'm here to tell you their CS is outstanding.

FedEx not so much.

@MezzieStarr   I agree re Walmart, and I also have had lots of problems with FedEx.

[ Edited ]

In my experience UPS is a dirty three letter word around here.

I don't like that Amazon is telling sellers who they can and can't use.  I understand it's their platform but what do they care who an independent seller chooses to use?  Maybe the other options aren't as convenient around where they are.

I don't understand the heavy handedness unless Amazon is somehow responsible for those deliveries or is dealing with a mess at their warehouses if they are maintaining and fulfilling the inventory being sold.

Re: Amazon Blocks Sellers From Using FedEx For Prime Deliveries

Yesterday I got a notice from Kohl's that my package was delivered at 3 something in the afternoon.  It was not.  Opened the door this morning to get my paper and there was the Fed-Ex driver on my doorstop with the package.  Well, at least I got it before Christmas.
