Well, mine usually come in two days, but still very pleased. Have you tried Prime Pantry - good for househild supplies, etc.
Just want to mention if you go into Amazonsmile.com instead (same company) but you can pick and sign up for a portion of your purchases $ total to go to that specific charity at absolutely no cost to you! I always do this and stock up on snacks, cleaners, etc,, so a donation, in my case goes to Second Chance Rescue NYC (that's where my Eddy came from), and it just makes me feel good!![]()

Because they're in danger of becoming colossal, I'm worried abut future ways of treating customers. So far, very consumer oriented.

I've had wrong orders, lost orders, trouble getting refunds on lost orders (actually delivered to another state, and someone I don't know). They tend to ship Fed Ex, which I hate, as they leave the boxes in the driveway in the rain (we have a huge covered porch just ten paces up the front walk, but they can't figure that out). And when you order from a vendor on Amazon, forget any kind of customer service in resolving the problem.
If I want fast shipping I go to Walmart now for many things. Free, within two days, and no annual fee.
I've tried Walmart numerous times and it's a mess. I rarely get things in two days, and I frequently get sent half orders with the other half coming a week later. That's no two days.
A few times I've clearly signed for shipping and they have sent me an email to come pick up my order... the nearest store is more than an hour away.
I was chosen for their trial run of two day delivery over a year ago. It was a trial run for the system they have now. I paid $50 for a year of delivery. After six months, the "trial" was over and they never gave me a refund for not giving me a year's deliveries.
I don't trust Walmart.

I use the pantry monthly. I go into the "specials' box first to see if I can buy 5 items which give you free shpg - there's usually so many items to chose from it works out quite well. I never fill up a box as I find it too burdensome to carry into the house. Can't remember when Ive paid the $5.99 shpg charge.

It was to have been delivered yesterday the 6th, before 8pm. Waited all day and no door. Finally about 9pm the shipping says I'll get it Aug. 6-8 and if I don't get it by the 9th to let them know, for other options. So where's my door? They've flubbed this one.
Call them - they'll give you a $5 or $10 credit usually, @Kachina624!

I still love my Amazon Prime!! Had an order that was a day late and they refunded the entire cost for that order!!! Have had some boxes arrive crushed or open and they always give me back some kind of a refund!! They stand by their business objectives....get the orders to the right location in the time promised and in good shape!!

Amazon just had a huge hiring thing in my state and also announced on news that people could apply online. So some jobs may leave certain sectors, but similar jobs will be available elsewhere.

@Zhills wrote:12 years ago before Amazon was everywhere, I ordered a book required for my Grandson to read for school.
I ordered it on Wednesday and it was delivered before noon on Thursday! I think they were in CA then but they were a lifesaver. None of the libraries had the book available to check out.
This is how I got started with Amazon Prime. My son needed college books and getting them from the bookstore cost an arm and a leg. On Amazon they were a fraction of the price. Regualr Amazon sellers would ship them via the book rate and it took a couple weeks sometimes. But Prime? He got the book in his hands within a day or two. With my daughters college, they match Amazon prices at her bookstore! My needs for Prime have subsided quite a bit, but I still feel it's $$ well spent.

When I lived in the middle of a huge metropolitan area, I didn't "need" Prime - could literally go out and buy whatever I wanted/needed myself, and at the time, 2-day delivery wasn't any sort of issue with me, with the things I was buying. Prime Video didn't matter so much because I had a lot to watch via cable TV.
Fast forward to living in a rural, small town area. Things I'd taken for granted, I simply can't buy locally in the supermarket or drugstore because this area doesn't stock them on the shelves. I now have two items delivered on an every-two months schedule. Whatever else I might need or want, I can find on Amazon at an equal or better price than a store here - where "local" is relative and would often mean driving 45-60 min each way to get one specific item. Such a waste in time, gas and energy.
And I love having Amazon video, living where wifi is horrible, we get many fewer channels, 1080 downloads impossible, and GB/mo capped. I can still watch something, whether conditons are ideal or not. I haven't used the music or books yet, but I likely will at some point. Same-day delivery will probably never be available here, but I have had a couple of things come the next day, and I do get Sunday deliveries.
Without Prime there are things I would just have to give up. Prime is, for me, the answer to "I can't find it here (where I live)." I wish we had Amazon Fresh and Amazon's (restaurant) food delivery, but we don't have Uber either...maybe one day.
