Yes, there are other creepy crawlers that are actually dangerous ... and I certainly wouldn't challenge an alligator coming in through the doggie door!
But small bugs .... nah.
Huh? Men have phobias too. I know several males who are terrified of bees (not allergic), spiders, snakes and mice.
I used to work with a big guy who was terrified of clowns. He'd nearly have a heart attack if one was nearby.

@KingstonMom You are not alone. Anything that's outside the house, it's cool. If they come inside, all bets are off!
And man do I have a story to tell, but that's for another time. Glad you survived your scare.

I think less of people who kill spiders. Spiders wonder into someone's house and, for that, get the death penalty.
Being kind costs nothing.

LMOA![]()
I don't need a man to kill a spider for me, but if my man is around, he will.![]()
I'm one of those women that finds men useful, whereas you probably don't.
Whatever floats your boat.

@Tinkrbl44 ...............I am sorry I had such a knee jerk reaction, but you hit a sore spot. I should have taken a few minutes before I replied to calm down. I do apologize for my rude response.

@Desertdi Wolf spider=one of nature's creepiest creatures, and they are fast! Won't even open image. I can visualize one in my mind. I've already seen more than a few around outside my house and one inside. Reading your post makes my skin crawl! Glad you were able to promptly dispatch it so it couldn't run off and hide, only to pop out and surprise you again.

They are good creatures. They kill bugs. I like spiders. After I learned what they do. In fact, I pick them up and take them outside if I see one in the house.Spiders are like bats & snakes. You need them to survive. If they don't exist, the world would be run over with insects/pests. Spiders are shy of people. They don't bother them. Preferring to hide places out of sight. Just because something looks scary, doesn't mean it is scary.

@laluzdelmundo I have to admit, I'd never seen one before...and my Kitty alerted me that "something was wrong".
At the time, I had full-length draperies, and the spider was hiding in the folds. By the time "it" came out on the table....Kitty was hissing and growling!!!!
And I took the drapes down, too! di

NO!!!! I hate spiders and have all my life---just makes me shiver---I can deal with small ones ok ---don't squish them but herd them outdoors, it's those big, honkin, hairy ones that give me nightmares--and who in their right mind would ever, EVER--pick up one and let it walk all over you!!!!

I agree with you 100 percent. Spiders don't bother me but centerpedes those do freak me out totally. The way they move is freaky plus the way they look allso.
