My daughter loves this time of year, and all things pumpkin.

No offense but Betty Crocker icing is the worst. It is so easy to make homemade icing without a chemical under taste.

There's a donut shop near me at the beach that makes their own vanilla cake donuts which can than be topped with any combination of many selections. One of their "suggestions" is maple glazed with bacon pieces. I was a bit leery at first, but they are absolutely delicious and have become one of my favorites when I'm in the mood for an indulgent treat.

Thanks for the tip! It sounds like a good idea to me Smile

Maple AND bacon? Together?......On a cookie?

On a cookie that is also maple bacon. Whoa.

Maybe I'll make a trip to Target tomorrow and see what's in the Halloween aisle. The last time I was there, they didn't have too much.

They didn't when I was there last week, either. Usually Halloween is up and running at Target by this time. Michael's has quite a bit of Halloween on the shelves.

I don't see why maple and bacon wouldn't go together. They sell maple-cured bacon. I'm not a fan, though, of bacon-flavored things except, um, bacon.

I had pumpkin pecan pie ice cream yesterday - it would have been good but they put crumbled up pie crust in it and that ruined an otherwise very good ice cream.

HH, Trader Joe's makes an exceptional pumpkin pie ice cream, it has a real following. My daughter is not an ice cream fan but she loves a that one. I think it only comes out once a year. No pie crust or other additives in it.

I love their pumpkin pie ice cream. I have tried MANY and it is the best I have ever had. I am a big fan of pumpkin anything in general.

When Trader Joe's gets all their pumpkin items in - I go nuts.

It's one of my favorite flavors - even more than chocolate.

I want to try the Williams Sonoma pumpkin caramels this year too.

SO DO I!! Love that place when it is pumpkin time.

The WS pumpkin caramels are very good. I heat them up for a second in the microwave and put some fleur de sel on them. Yum.

Last year it was pumpkin everything. In Starbucks the other day, I had a small pumpkin latte, the first of the season. It tasted awful, I hope it was a glitch because I used to like them.

Target's Halloween food section had something new, a Betty Crocker cookie mix in maple bacon and frosting to match. We're seeing a lot of maple/bacon things around here, including donuts. I haven't tried it, though.

You have to tell Starbucks to reduce the expresso on the pumpkin spice. If you have a Keurig their pumpkin spice kcups/vue are amazing. Target has them.
