All My Children....Adam / Stuart

I was a regular viewer when my kids were small and loved the story line with stuart. I always thought he was dead. This week the show is winding down and I just watched Stuart wake up as Adam begged him to come back. Ok I know its soap land and I missed a lot but can anyone clue me in....I am wondering if he was just presumed dead etc etc and has now appeared out of the blue. Also I wonder if Kelly ripa will be on the last few episodes or has she been on already Smiley Happy
