@Linmo Actor or anyone else, it is a gun.  If you don't know how to check, don't pick up one ever.  It isn't difficult to learn, just ask, just verify for yourself.

I will say it is like getting in a running car pointed at a crowd and putting it in gear when you don't know where the break is.

The man is an actor, not a gun expert. That's why gun experts were hired to be on set.

When I hire someone to connect my gas stove, I don't expect I need to know all the mechanics of the stove so it doesn't blow up in my face when I turn it on.

Maybe he didn't "pull" the trigger. Maybe the gun went off on its own. Maybe he isn't responsible.

You can really see the revulsion some have with this man. Most of it spurred by tabloid stories.

He's a guy some people LOVE to hate. He must have a hide as thick as a buffalo.

@JamandBread   Nothing tabloid about my post-look up his interview with Stephanopoulis (sp).

The gun did not go off by itself-even if it did in the 1 in a trillion chance, you not being an expert about your gas stove is not the same as handling a gun.

The lawsuit isn't about Baldwin alone; it is also about the shoddy handling of the props.

And again, for someone who is so outspoken AGAINST the NRA and gun rights,  he sure doesn't mind making millions in movies that use..........guns.  And not in non-violent ways.

Big difference in disagreeing with the bankrupted, disgraceful NRA and making movies. Not that his opinion about the NRA has a thing to do with this situation.

I stand by what I said.

Maybe he didn't pull the trigger.

Maybe he isn't responsible.

He is an actor, not a gun expert, which is why there were professionals paid for their expertise.

People despise this man based on tabloid stories and politics. Not surprised to see the lip smacking and moustache twisting glee all over the internet.

I don't blame the family of the victim for filing suit. I would too. They deserve compensation for their loss, tragic accident or not.

@JamandBread   I am speaking only for myself.  I have not posted tabloid gossip; I posted about a genuine interview.

And yes, if he is not supporting gun rights, then keep the guns out of the picture completely.

I care not one bit about the NRA but it isn't just the NRA; he feels guns do not belong to anyone.

Yet he needs them to make movies where guns still kill people.

That is my point.  If he can make $$$ making films with gun violence, who is he to determine who can and cannot own a gun in real life???

I do not love to hate the man; such a nonsense statement, imo.

It is his lack of responsibility in this tragedy that puts him in a negative light, nobody else is doing that for him.

I find it almost amusing that people who are so anti-gun will defend this man in this tragedy.

We KNOW about prop handlers btw.  Circling back to them does not remove any responsibility from him, especially blaming Halyna for telling him to point the gun at her.

We can agree to disagree but I see hypocrisy when it comes to Baldwin.

Let the justice system do the job it needs to do.

I didn't know Baldwin believes no one should own guns.  I understand him to be for gun control, not the abolishment of the second amendment. Most Americans agree we need changes to the laws, so he's in the mainstream. I don't think being pro gun control makes you ineligible to make movies with guns in them. I guess if you're anti drug cartels, you can't make movies about drug cartels?

We will for sure agree to disagree. It's only opinions, after all and I respect yours.

My hope is that Halyna's family gets everything they need to compensate for her death - if there is such a thing.

His comment that he didn't pull the trigger doesn't help his case. No one was expecting this to happen, so no one was closely watching everyone's actions regarding how the firearms were being handled. Such a tragic accident for everyone involved. Baldwin will have to live with the fact he killed someone for the rest of his life...but it does bother me that he has gone back to work almost as if it never happened. Maybe collecting a settlement will bring some sort of close to the family. Has he faced any consequences at all thus far?

@JamandBread

For a topic that to me is serious. Your analogy of your gas stove and a hand gun is a non funny joke. If you don't know enough about the dangers of "gas anything", I suggest you learn. Expert? No. Knowledge of potential dangers? Yes.

So "an actor" cannot also be "gun expert"! According to the man himself, he has used a hand gun. One does not need the adjective word "expert" to handle of fire a hand gun.

I am an "expert" at nothing, but there are many things in which i am proficient. One of them is firing a hand gun, and as an owner of one, i first learned all the required safety to be able to get my conceal carry Permit. An "expert" I am not, but expertise is not a requirement of handling a hand gun.

As far as AB? I don't know him, I only know of him. Not even sure I have seen even 1 of his movies, or tv shows. The death was well publicized or I wouldn't even have known about it. Have seen him in short interview news clips, and also his much longer 1 on 1 conversation with a major network celebrity.

He did a 180 on what he said happened. Why?  Maybe "some people, love to hate him", I am not one of them. Let the facts come out and those found responsible get their due justice.
