@PickyPicky3 Rhis story was on our local news again this morning. There has been no leads as of yet but I suspect that foul play is at work here. The child was possibly a decoy......

AL.com seems to be a good source for updates.

@MezzieStarr wrote:Probably using the child as a decoy in order to kidnap the woman. Terrifying.
When I was a teenager in the 1990s we had someone placing a baby stroller on the road to get people to stop. They would then rob the person. Police were warning people not to stop for out of the ordinary things on the road. I don't think they were ever caught. Very scary.
When you wrote this....I remembered the very same thing. That was so weird.....I don't think they were ever caught either.

I wonder why she didn't stay on the phone with 911? Did her brother's GF call her and it interupted the 911 call?
If people saw a gray vehicle and a light complected man pulled over, did anyone see a toddler?
Seeing a toddler on the side of a highway really sticks out (in someone's mind) even if they are exiting a pulled over vehicle along with adults, I would think. Have any other driver's come forward to seeing the child?
This is the first I heard of this story. Am not on any other social media except here.

So terrible! What's the world coming to? Stuff like this makes it such that people are too scared to react like they should and help out others in need. Horrible thought.
My heart goes out to the family. So sad.

however they believe there may have been other serial killers who left their victims buried in the same area besides the guy they just arrested

This is just horrible. I hope someone saw something and comes forward. This was on the interstate and in this area, even at that time of night, there would have been plenty of traffic.
I don't think I could leave a small child out there like that either, so I don't know what I would have done. I know of a situation that happened near my work where a man put his small stepchild out on the side of the road one rainy night "to teach him a lesson." The man claimed he was going to come back for him, but the child was struck and killed before that happened.

@Caaareful Shopper @PickyPicky3 + all
Odd, though.
1. Nothing taken, car left running, cell phone lying on ground.
2. Did she ever give ANY description of the child (race, gender, age range)?
3. If a child was purposely put out there, it would take awhile for her to pass that child. Meanwhile, other pass. Did ANYONE else report a child on the freeway? So odd, someone would call it in.
4. Was her life more or less stable when this happened?

This story is frightening. Someone stops to help a child and now may be a victim of a horrible crime. So sad
