After all is said and done...

....and after all the back and forth HERE about the man and his BOAT, didn't ANYONE see the news tonight? He was not only interviewed on Ch5 Boston, but mentioned on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer:

"People died. It's a boat. The money should go to the victims. I have a canoe in the garage". His voice crumbled and he had tears.

He's very humble, and like so many 'retired guys' it took him some time to figure out what was going on in his boat. There was no blood outside (as previously reported) but two of the stays were loose so once he COULD go outside he went over to fix the stays, went up a ladder, rolled up the canvas, saw blood, looked around, saw more blood, looked around again, saw part of a body (doesn't remember coming down the ladder!) and went back inside and called 911 - gave his address and said there was blood and someone in his boat in the back yard.

He says he's not a hero, but if it makes people feel better to think that then it's ok. He shakes thinking that the kid was probably in the boat overnight the night before.
