@catwhisperer

this has to be one of the worst christmas present expereiences i've ever heard of.  are they demented?  i'm so sorry and i hope it didn't ruin your holiday.  i would ignore and not even acknowledge them or the gift.  to ignore someone is the worst thing you can do to them.  always remember that.

have a much, much happier new year!

I have a question. How do you respond to a relative who emails you stating they have made a donation in your name to an organization of their choice, then says "Merry Christmas and Thank You".

I am angry and very insulted.   I feel it is MY choice who I want to donate to and not to be decided for me.

Of course it's supposed to be YOUR choice of charity.   That's the point of the gesture.    Is it your sense that she was trying to insult you ..... or just a thoughtless person?

Truth be told, at some future point I might be tempted to make a donation in their name to a charity (or a political candidate) I doubt they'd support .... or TELL them that I did, but didn't.   I'd definitely be tempted, that's for sure!  LOL
